Administrative note
The owner or manager of the elevator must take the following measures promptly when a person is injured by the elevator.
  • Necessary measures such as lifesaving
  • Contact 119 rescue units (fire departments), maintenance companies
  • Contact victim's family
  • Report elevator accident status to elevator inspection agency

Emergency rescue of passengers in a car
  • Upon receipt of the notice of imprisonment, he immediately contacts the repair company and informs the onsite rescue service that the trapped passengers are waiting for relief.
  • Depending on the stopping position of the vehicle, it is necessary to pay sufficient attention to the risk that the passengers as well as the rescue personnel will fall on the hoistway during the rescue operation.
  • If the threshold of the car is more than 60cm or more than 120cm below the threshold of the platform, open the platform door and the car door and rescue the platform by putting the bridge in the car.


Passive rescue by manual operation
  • Disconnect main power switch.
  • If the platform doors of all floors are open, close them.
  • Ask the trapped passenger to confirm that the car door is closed and to let them know that they will move manually.
  • Operate the brake release lever and insert the manual handle into the motor shaft or flywheel.
  • Gently turn the manual handle to move to the nearest layer.
  • Peel off the handle, open the door and rescue the passenger.


Measures in case of fire

    Fire in the building
    1. If a fire occurs, do not use the elevator to escape.
    2. The evacuation must use the stairs, and all elevators in the building are brought into the evacuation floor to close and stop the doors.
    3. Emergency elevators operate according to purpose such as digestion.

    Fire in machine room
    1. Fire in the machine room is extinguished by using fire extinguishers for electrical appliances.
    2. Turn off the main power switch while keeping in touch with passengers in the car.
    3. When the car stops in the middle of the floor, rescue the passengers in the manner described above.

    Fire in hoistway
    1. Be careful not to smother the soot generated when the lubricant of the electric wire or the rail rides.


Measures for earthquake occurrence
  • Do not use it for evacuation as it may stop during an earthquake.
  • After an earthquake of magnitude 3 or more, it is a maintenance technician. In case of a magnitude of 4 or more, the elevator technician is checked and confirmed whether or not there is an abnormality.
  • If the passenger is trapped by an earthquake, rescue the passenger in accordance with the previous method and stop until the completion of the above check and check after the rescue is completed.
